Onions are great for salads and adding flavor to almost any dish, but they’re also very helpful when it comes to curing illnesses and give overall benefits to our health system of the body.

Onions are also great if you use them to prevent nausea, flu, viruses and World Health Organization acknowledges them for their beneficial tendencies towards the immune system and the balanced work of the body.

1. Cough

Peel and slice an onion and put a tablespoon of brown sugar on top over each slice and let them stay covered for an hour.  After an hour, eat this twice a day to get rid of your cough. The sulfur in onions release anti-bacterial properties while digested that kills cough-causing bacteria. Sulfur also works as a detox that helps the body release the clogged toxins.

Grate an onion and squeeze it with a cloth and collect the onion juice. Brew some peppermint tea and let it cool completely. Drink two teaspoons of the onion juice and wait five minutes. Then drink two teaspoons of peppermint tea. Repeat this until your stop vomiting.

8. Cleanse The Air

An onion can purify the air because it will suck up the bacteria and viruses in the air and will absorb them. The smell is what it is but it’s better to clean the area than dispose it later.

9. Treat Sun Or Minor Burns

Rub a fresh cut onion onto your skin burn to prevent the pain and inflammatory. The sulfur will prevent infection, help with faster speed skin regeneration and reduce redness and burning.
